| Very very good Hotel. We had a poolaccess room and it was great. The room in concrete-optic with modern elements. Big Bed and the bath with tub and shower and window to the room and view to the pool ! There are 11 pools with some deckchairs. Some are only for the Pool access rooms. Breakfast was very good with different things cold/warm as buffet. The lobby is the lowest point of the hotel and from the mainstreet in a short but steep street reacheable. There is a lift in the first block up to the 4-floor and then short walk to the next block and lift to the higher rooms. Some rooms are not reached by lift. The beach is very buisy and in walkingdinstance (5 Minutes). Kata is even buisy but not as buisy as Karon, or Patong. We can recommend the Hotel for a stay of 4-5 days to explore Phuket. Take a motorbike to explore. |

| Great room, great facilities. I booked a pool access room and I am satisfied with it, the room comes with a mac computer too and it provides free wifi. But the staff service at the front desk is just average, they speak poor english, and they did not provide welcome drink upon arrival. Put the service aside, they really have great room and facilities. |

| Excellent value hotel. Great breakfast with varied options each day and the pool access rooms are fantastic. The bedroom and bathroom are both very large and we particularly liked the location at the southern end of Kata Beach with a wide choice of bars and restaurants within very easy walking distance. We are planning our return already!! |

| Initially the reception staff wanted to give us a room that was rather old whereas we ve been to this hotel before and knew that they have new good rooms. After we ve changed the room, all the rest was OK.
We ve took the room with no breakfast and never regreted this. Breakfast was offered at extra 350 THB, while we had our breakfasts at Black Canyon Coffee restaurant nearby (1 minute walk). Breakfast for two there was only around 400 THB and I can not say we ve been limiting ourselves anyhow.
Bottomline: a standard Kata Beach hotel, though you can easily find a better one. |

| I read the remarks about your hotel on blogs and comments on the web before we came. They are concurrent with many hotels in thailand. I decided due to the cheap room prices and great look and location of the grand hillside that i would try it myself.
15 years in 5 star hotels has given me ample amount of understanding of the product and customer service. Without experiencing the problems others found with your hotel I saw from the moment i entered and was dealt with by the front desk staff , how true peoples situations could be.
There is a lead front desk agent at grand hillside who needs to learn the simple lessons of customer service and the guest is always right . Her attitude leaves alot to be desired. Her approach is rough around the edges and arrogant. Her english language is not a problem, she understands fully , but pretends not to! I forgot her name but she is everyones supervisor.
I asked her to check if the top level pool access rooms were available for a certain date so i could upgrade my room and move to it. we were booked for 4 nights in a jacuzzi room but wanted a pool access room. She looked in her reservations but while doing so she gave me attitude that she doesnt think so and probably not .I asked her to look for a certain date and in any reservation system one can see what rooms are taken and what are vacant. Its easy, and its custmoer service. I asked if she could reserve the room for me as i was already in the hotel and wanted to take the better room and upgrade. her first answer was that its more money! and I cant book it for you ....??????
I have been 15 years in the 5 star hotel business, the customer service skills of the front desk reception area is seriously lacking. The supervisors ignorance and attitude has rubbed off and been passed onto her staff as they all gave attitude! They are wront to give guests attitude, even if you disagree with the guest, they are paying the bill and your wages, back offf and learn customer skills!
I deliberately never gave my credit card to your staff because i did not trust they way they treat guests. i was not going to be over charged for anything or accused of anything so kept my card in my pocket and booked through an agent! Money was not the problem, dustrust is.
Your hotel is good looking, clean and classy looking. More attention needs to be focused on cleaning, upkeep and painting the building. The rooms are great, the club car staff are great, i tipped them well.Always miling and always helpful.
The breakfast hall needs improvement, you cannot have a hotel with a restaurant that has chaffing dishes around the outside walls. It feels like you forgot people need to eat in the hotel. Chaffing dishes are not good for holding food for more than 4 hours, it is world health food regulation and I saw that not happening. The service staff on the restaurant floor need to also smile and be more interactive instead of standing 5 or 6 people with the chef chatting away when service is needed on the floor, i understand they get service charges in your hotel, it is only being given by the club car staff and room housekeeping, not the restaurant or front desk. Service charge is for service, its not part of a wage system especially when you dont give the service!
I will return, but please improve customer service and have less arrogance and attitude on the front desk area. |

Was a pleasent stay. With this resort you make no mistake. High standard in the room. Would stay there agaein, if I would come back to Kata Beach. We stayes in a room with pool-access. After hours staying on the beach it is a pleasure to come back to your room and jump into the pool. And many good restaurants just arount the corner. Perfekt Location for a nice stay at Kata Beach. |

| We stayed at Sugar Palm Grand Hillside for 6 nights. Location and view from our room was exceptional. Layout of room was good, but the combination of bare concrete floors and poor cleaning made the room and balcony feel very dirty. Especially in bathroom. One day we also received dirty towels from housekeeping. Service at front desk was less than expected, and made us feel unwelcome, both at check in, and whenever we had a question or a request. Even if we loved the location, and the low season price was very affordable , we will never stay there again. |

| I originally booked this hotel for one week. After one day, I immediately booked it for another two weeks - 75% of my trip to Phuket. I was thoroughly impressed with this hotel - from the rooms to the staff - it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The pool access rooms are great. Most open to a pool that is shared by only two or three other rooms. This means the pool is a little small, but if it is privacy you are looking for, you can do little better than this for the cost (you can always pay $1000/night for your own pool). For longer swims you can always do to the larger pool. The rooms have an art gallery look (cement with wood and recessed lighting everywhere). The flat screen wall-mounted TV comes with a DVD player. There is free wifi in every rooom (and quite fast for Thailand). The bed is awesome and there is a mice glass desk to work on if that s your thing. There is a steama and sauna if you ever feel the need to escape the weather :) I hear a fitness room is on the way, but for now you can always use the one in their sister hotel down the hotel. It is a bit of a walk up to your room - especially if it is at the very top of the hill - but you can always request a golf cart to take you up. If you get a jacuzzi room, they are located only on the top floors (most with a great view of Kata beach)and they are on the balcony (which is kind of neat). This is great to view the sunset while snuggling into some bubbles (however, not enough room for two unfortunately). Other rooms have a huge bathtub just enough for two average sized people. The staff were very helpful and accommodating (they allowed me to alter my bookings somewhat to suit my wife). Make sure to use the booking service located in the lobby - she is a great help in deciding what to do other than sit on the beach). Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. Amazing value compared to other hotels (in any season). I will definitely be booking here when visiting Phuket. |

| Fabulous place to stay - lovely decor and small cascading pools. Breakfast was good! Well located to walk to beach & shopping. They do not offer resaurant lunch & dinner but have a very cheap dine in menu - similar in price to local eating houses. Good food is available right across the lane from the entrance lobby. Massage prices are high compared to local operators down the street. If you can get a good off-peak price for your room, stay here. No so good for the elderly as there are many stairs! |

| It certainly is a climb up the the higher rooms in this resort. Possibly good to walk off all that Thai food! Golf buggies are available but you ll have to tip and the ride is an experience in itself. We had a pool access room and it was good to jump in after the climb. The place is new as yet and finishings of bare concrete and painted concrete have a rustic feel. The bed and linen was better than other hotels - very comfy! Staff were good but charged higher than usual if they arranged taxis. Breakfast was good. Free internet is slow, but ok for checking mail. Beach and many shops and restaurants not far away. Pity there s no way through the back of the resort to Kata Noi (best beach - quiet). Kata beach was very busy (jan - Feb) including the beach and streets. The Sugar Palm Resort & Spa is a cheaper and more level alternative, though this hotel was a little more up market. |

| Our family - two adults and two children ages 2 and 4 stayed at this hotel from 30 December - 4 January in a jacuzzi, pool view room, and to be honest I would not recommend it for families with small children. The hotel had only been opened for two months when we stayed, and they need to get their acts together on the customer service front.
As the name suggests it is set on a hill - however, what the description fails to mention is that you have to walk up and down the hill to get to your rooms, (not great in hot weather with two small kids and beach stuff, etc, etc) there are no lifts from the lower level- although there is a lift that goes from about the 4th floor upwards? However, if you are lucky enough to catch one of the surly staff they will take you in a golf buggy up the hill to your room.
The rooms are very average for the price - pool quite nice, not enough sun-beds although most people tended to go to the beach.
Breakfast was a bun-fight - i.e. not enough tables and chairs for everyone - we couldn t get a table for 4 most days and had to wait and I think I got food poisoning from the breakfast bacon which after eating it we noticed being heated up from cold the next morning. Bit of a hectic feel and staff not overly practised at customer service. I would not recommend this hotel, but this is my opinion, others staying there enjoyed it. |

The room is spacious, clean, modern, severice and breakfast is good, staff are nice, however it is not beach front, have to walk for 5-7 mins. Kata beach, on the other side, is amazingly good, you can even snorkling and see lots of fishes in the rocky side. |
