| We stayed four nights in a duplex room with our two sons.
nice room, nice location, and nice breakfast.
We also had very good Thai lunch at Mr Tan restaurant and delicious dinner at cefalu, an italian trattoria on Surin Beach.
Will come back again at Manathai |

| One of the most beautiful design hotels I ve ever stayed at. Well-thought-out down to the smallest details, so that every nuance pleases you. Even the toiletry was of a very high quality. Basically, I wouldn t want to change a single thing in the hotel.
I recommend to dedicate some extra to your budget and choose at least Studio Suite room since standard Deluxe is not too big.
In general, a destination of choice for romantic couples looking for seclusion and relaxing receration. |

| We were very impressed with the Manathai Resort. The Manathai was an independent boutique hotel, traditional Thai style, and very good service. We stayed in a pool suite, as we had a 6month old baby, and it was ideal. The room was in the new wing, and it had a private plunge pool with a small courtyard, which got the sun all day. We had a look at some of the other rooms whilst we were there, the new wing rooms are much better, but all of them were nice. You do get the odd bad smell from the drains in the bathroom, and obviously there are mozzies too, but thats Thailand. If you want a more clinical place then stick to the Marriott or Hiltons, but it may not feel like a true traditional thailand resort. Having travelled a lot round Thailand over the years we didn t have high hopes, as most beaches are ruined by over development, and litter everywhere. We only went back to Phuket because we got a very cheap flight. But the area of Surin was really nice, and the beach was great. Yes they still have a small problem with rubbish, but not as bad as other places in Phuket. We would certainly go back to Surin again and stay at the Manathai. |

| Beautiful boutique hotel, and very friendly and helpful staff.
We booked a deluxe room and was upgraded to a studio, with compliments from the check in staff. We did not see the deluxe rooms, but have read some earlier complaints. I noticed that there is an older and a new wing. Anyhow, the studio was spacious and chic, with a private balcony with a fan. We were even upgraded to a duplex room when we had some minor trouble with the toilet (that didn t flush). Bigger end even better. We love the interior!
This is the low season, and the staff seemed to do whatever to make our stay memorable. We definitely would go back.
We paid 2700BHT and think that is great value. |

| A good hotel in a very good location close to beautiful Surin beach. It s a pleasant 150m stroll through a little park to the beach, where Manathai has a cooperation with one of the beach chair rental shops - towels, deck chairs and umbrella are provided free of charge.
The hotel has two pools, both rather small, but nice. I can not recommend the Deluxe rooms - the ones we were shown on ground floor were dark, with a dark and old fashioned room decoration The hotel staff admitted that they are receiving a lot of complaints about these rooms - no good value for money! We were upgraded to a higher room category, which was a beautiful and comfortable room. Friendly and helpful staff, free internet - a good place to stay at, even though not as pretty as Manathai Village in Chiang Mai. |

| Very nice boutique hotel with tasteful decor and a convenient location across the street from Surin Beach. The hotel staff was always friendly, and despite many of them not speaking perfect English, they were very easy to communicate with. We very much enjoyed our room and every aspect of our stay and will definitely return in the future (unless of course the Manathai raises its rates to the ridiculous highs of other resorts in the area). Thank you! |

| I sayed 3 nights at Manathai in Phuket. We were upgraded to a suit which was just off one of the 2 pools. We had a sitting room and bedroom and very small bath. The room was attractive but had too many decorative objects taking space that a traveler needs for suitcase, toiletries, etc. Also there was no task lighting, just very dim lamps in the bedroom and sitting room. I needed a flashllight to find things in my suitcase after dark. All the rooms are different, so that problem may not be encountered in other rooms.
The breakfast was excellent, the ocean beach club was convenient and well staffed and the public areas were nicely furnished in a traditional thai manner.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The happy hour complimentary snacks were excellent.
I would stay there again but would ask to look at a couple of rooms before deciding. |

| A beautiful hotel. Small but the interior is wonderful. We stayed for 8 nights and are overwelmed. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only thing that was a bit negative, was that the barprices was extremely high, but nevertheless, you can go elsewere to enjoy a drink. |

| This resort is fantastic and definitely worth a stay. It is a beautifully decorated, traditionally Thai-styled resort with excellent service. The staff were lovely and really helpful. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here. We doubt you will be disappointed if you stay here. |

| Wow, what a nice hotel! The holidays in Thailand were superb and the stay in the Manathai at the beginning did its best. Rooms are a little bit small but who stays in rooms during holidays? Staff always and everywhere helpful, food upper standard, but the bar is very very expensive (reason why nobody was visible there?) All in all: 100% to recommend; for us in the future a top address on Phuket island |

| Manathai Phuket is an excellent hotel. We stayed there from 12/09/07 to 12/12/07. We booked the Superior Double room type through Sawadee.com, which was a very good value. The lobby ambience is a cozy and relaxing traditional modern Thai style. The old wing we stayed at has a nice Zen type of courtyard that features a soothing waterfall, white cushions and pillows with sheer white cloth canopies and a small, but inviting, swimming pool. The staff was cheerful, courteous, and very helpful. Breakfast was of good quality. Our room was comfortable, but lacked useable surface/space to store or set things down on. Lighting in the room was not adequate to read books or see maps. But we slept well with an excellent bed and good air conditioning. Last, but not least, DO NOT let them check you into room 111!!!! Avoid it at all cost. We felt insulted that they would think that anyone would want to sleep in a tight corner room right next to the breakfast restaurant. It smelled like an Indian restaurant when we first walked in, it has an old beat up screen sliding door, it has a vent fan in the bathroom that was constantly ON, and there was only a bathtub with no real shower. When we mentioned our concerns to the receptionists, they promptly moved us to another room. We also loved the beach side chair/towel service at their facility on Surin beach. We will definitely return to Manathai again and will recommend it to our friends, but with the exception of avoiding a 111 type of room. |

| I was disappointed in this hotel...the ambience was very inviting upon entering the hotel, however, the staff effort was mixed except for the restuarant waitstaff which was excellent...the dinner meals were also excellent...but the room was small, the lighting ambience made it impossible to read a book, map, etc..nice touch but not practical..there service to Patong was pathetic...if I was to stay in Surin beach again (which I doubt) I would probably stay at the Twenty-nine Palms which is next door ... just wasn t worth the price. |

| Beautifully designed, small boutique hotel - just across the road from Surin Beach. Tranquil, with soothing water features, and all facilities including a restaurant with delicious cuisine. The staff service is outstanding. Although the rooms do no overlook the sea, the Manathai Club on the Beach is a wonderful feature. |

| Absolutely, positively fantastic! We stayed at the Manathai in Chiang Mai and loved it so much we decided to also try their Phuket location, and were so glad we did. Once again, Manathai impressed us with their service, beautiful rooms and a style unto themselves throughout this boutique-style resort. There is free internet and there are 2 pools, which was great. Also, just a walk across the street to the Manathai Beach Club, where you will be assisted with towels and lounge chairs privately reserved for Manathai guests. Beach-side massages also available. Breakfasts were great, even an omelet station, something for everyone. Weaves restaurant was also divine. Would highly recommend this resort. Located on Surin beach, much better that Patong (which is like the Las Vegas of Thailand). |

| Manathai is a cozy boutique hotel. We stayed in a Superior room for 3 nights during Christmas.
First of all, the location is great; it’s just opposite the Surin Beach. There are shops, trendy restaurants and bars just outside the hotel. Surin Beach is a great choice if you want to stay away from the busy sleazy areas.
Hotel is absolutely beautiful. Modern, chic and small. Services are good; hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. There are 2 small swimming pools and the water can be cold because it does not get much sunshine. You can just walk across to the beach if you don’t like the cold water at the pool. I would not recommend it to those travelling with young children considering its limited facilities and space.
Room is clean, cozy and spacious. Only thing is that the bathroom was a bit smelly, but this is the typical drain problem across Thailand. I experienced them in Bali too.
Food was average. Breakfast was very standard and lack of variety in fact. We had to take the compulsory dinner there on the Christmas Eve, frankly we were disappointed with the buffet spread. We expected better spread and quality for a US$50.00 buffet.
The hotel itself does not have spa and gym facilities. There is a really good up-market spa at the Twinpalm resort next door. Not cheap but definitely worth every cent you paid for.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Manathai. Will definitely recommend it to friends. |

| totally disappointing; room (120 EUR per night) was small, humid and dark; kitchen-smell whole day; X-Mas Dinner (65 EUR p.p.) was highway restaurant quality; many guests complained room quality; if you are able to pay 120 EUR go elsewhere, not here! |

| The hotel itself was ok with respect to the location, but I wouldn t come to this area again. The hotel is located near Surin beach, me and my wife didn t liked the beach, it s too far from everything, the choice of restaurants is limited, food quality is average and prices are high, compared to other places in Thailand. |
