| After complaining about the room, we were given a better one on the top floor and closer to the main area. The view was great and the pool wonderful. The breakfast looks impressive, but not the greatest. Quality of cooking not that good. You have to get your own coffee and usualy it was empty . They cleared the food before 10AM or ran out of things way before. Kata Beach is OK, but too far from airport and taxis are the only way to get around after a certain time. Do not understand why we have to pay 200Baht to use a chair on the beach, |

| First of all, all beaches in Phuket are public, which I think is great. The hotel is build against the public beach, and you can walk straight into the sea. If you want a 100% seaview from your lounger, you have to rent a beachchair on the public beach (100 bath, about 2.50 euro per day). The hotel has great chairs as well, but only a limited amount overlook the andaman sea, the rest overlook the pool.
Nice big rooms, we had one with a fantactic view over the ocean. However, if you prefer the staff to be friendly and helpful, go to another hotel, you chose this hotel purely for it s location. Expect a lot of Rusians, but they never bother me (I secretly borrow their chairs when they are at the beach, leaving their hotel-towel at the chairs at the pool, haha). Dont eat at the hotel, there are plenty of nice and cheaper restaurants in the close area. On the beach or right across the street outside the hotel. |

| We stayed 9 nights in the grand pool access room so will start with the room: small! very basic floorplan bed t.v bathroom fridge and all the rooms are like that with the same old standard brown red and gold decor. The private pool is connected to a row of others so not very private. The power kept turning off, the door lock was broken, the room service menu was limited and over priced. The rooms were very clean. The hotel itself is in a perfect location right on the beach which is a really nice clean surf beach. The buffet breakfast was the best! make sure you get this included. Dont eat at the hotel! it is over priced crap, there are heaps of restraunts out on the street and they are all perfectly safe to eat at they cook there food very well and very cheap. There is no shopping in kata there are a couple of little stalls selling dvds clothes but they are more expensive than patong and no variety so if your there for shopping just stay in patong. There are 2 pools one is tiny not worth going in and the other has the swim up bar with a cornered off part for kids. STaff are really nice and they have a doctor onsite. not kid friendly ie no kids clubs or activities or kids menu. CHeck-in was quick and simple (sawadee is a fantastic booking site) make sure you book you airport transfers through a private company dont leave it up to the hotel as they cost a lot (1800 baht)and dont offer many shuttles to the airport Kata is about an hour and 20 mins from the airport so look for companys that charge around 800 baht. Travel around by a tuk tuk only pay 350 baht to patong they are hard to barter with in the off season. Patong is a 17 minute trip on the way is an elephant shed so look out for it. Book your day trips out on the street its cheaper. DOnt use the hotels or airport to convert your money better value on the street. 7-11 are expensive use the local family marts. Would only stay at this resort if I was staying in Kata the other hotels are too far from the beach and smell like eggs out the frount. I probley wouldnt go back to Kata because I was sick of getting tuk tuks to patong but I would definatly recommend it for a place to go to. |

| We are paying Deluxe Room for 2 nights, when we check in they give us standard room without seaview, and even tell us if we want to upgrade we have to pay extra 1000 bht. After I recheck internet, and print out Confirmation letter again, they just admitt their fault, and upgrade my room to swim poor access but still no seaviews. Feel very bad about this hotel, the breakfast quality are also very poor. won t stay in this hotel again. |

| We weren t sure what to expect at Kata Beach Resort after reading a few negative blogs before booking. It is a large resort, but it is well maintained, clean and the room was good. Best of all is the position! There are only a few beach front reorts at Kata, with most resorts being across the road or on the hill! We were pleasantly suprised with the KBR and enjoyed our stay. Good value for money! |

| I did not enjoy my stay at the Kata Beach Resort. Beginning with check in, the only english the receptionist knew was moment please and there was no adult supervision beyond this to assist. They will not be able to assist you with any needs should one arise regardless of how simple or complex. The house keeping staff yell down the hallways each morning during their rounds. Very annoying.
The hotel itself is average, having never been touched in respects to modernization or remodeling since new. Its a bit dark.
The breakfast is average but finding a table with silverware and someone to serve you is below average. Restaurant service is poor at best and the food is average as well but a bit over priced.
Your only paying more for this hotel because it rest directly on the beach. If you don t mind a short walk there are better places for far less. |

| Kata Beach Resort was okay. My husband and I spent a week on the island of Koh Phangan first and absolutely loved it! Phuket was too touristy and more like Mexico. When laying in the pool area, I felt like I was in Mexico, not Thailand. It wasn t very private. There were so many people around and space was hard to come by. On our first night at Kata Beach Resort, we had a knock at our door and there was a woman and man, not in uniform, asking if we wanted our bed made at 10:00pm. We thought this was weird and asked the front desk about it, but they didn t seem to care at all. The help at the hotel spoke very minimal English (which is understandable since we were in Thailand), but it made communicating with them very difficult. Travel costs from the hotel were outrageously expensive as well. I also got dangerously sick from the buffet and was sick for the last two days of our stay and for almost two weeks after. I saw some cross contamination in the buffet (raw egg spoon used for cooked meat, people picking up pancakes with their fingers, etc.) Overall, we thought Kata Beach Resort was okay, but not for the price. |

| The resort is in an excellent position. We had a superior room and a tiny view of the beach. Most important we could go down to breakfast, sit on the patio, feel the breeze coming from the sea and we were only steps away from the swimming pool or the beach. Most importantly the beach was safe to swim in, unlike another resort we stayed at.Breakfast was varied and of a good standard. The only down side when checking out ... the room contents we were supposed to have used ....we replaced the bottle of beer and certainly we did not eat the chips. After visiting Patong for a few hours we appreciated the quieter area of Kata, and we enjoyed walking to local restaurants and shops. |

| This is our second stay on Kata Beach Resort - this time to celebrate our 25 marriage anniversity together with our children and grand children. The hotel is the best we ever stayed at anywhere in the world: top quality, top staff, top facilities. The hotel is situated at the south end of Kata Beach, right on the beach. You sit in the pool area and enjoy the view of the bay and you fall asleep to the pleasent sound of the ocean. The restaurant have theme nights at reasonable rates and very good quality, but we prefer to visit the nearby Mom Tri restaurant: Oasis. Worthy of 1 or 2 stars, should Michelin ever drop by. We will definately visit Kata Beach Resort again. |

| This is a fabulous hotel on Kata beach, considering the other choice on the beach is clubmed. It s on the beach, it s grand, while all the other hotels (except club med) on kata are just next to the slums. If you want the feeling of coming to a vacation on the beach, you will not want to choose any other hotels on Kata that are at the back lane next to local slum area. it feels terrible - when I see people walk out of the nice hotel interior, and straight to the streets full of construction and getto.
No other reviews I read mention this important point, but I am so glad I finally decided to stay at Kata beach resort. |

| Great location right in front of the beautiful beach. Close to everthing- good restaurants, massage shops.
I don t recommend standard rooms cuz I actually switched the room from a standard to a superior after staying only one night. The view from superior rooms worth every penny of extra charge.
I think beach chairs are enough for everyone, but maybe it s because it was low season.
Employees are very polite and kind. Even though their english is not perfect, but good enough to communicate. I was charged with water that I didn t drink when I checked out and the receptionist amended that, not exactly immediately, but politely.
There were some ants in the room, flies & birds in the restaurant, but I didn t mind a lot as I was aware that I wasn t in a city and I was there to enjoy the nature. Do not leave your plate unattended when you eat breakfast outside though. You don t want birds to sit on your food.
Overall, I would like to give 9 points out of 10. |

| Huge complex with great facilities and direct beach access. Very imposing entrance, and public spaces, masses of beautiful flowers inside. Lovely view from balcony of Andaman Sea. Staff helpful but due to resort size, we found it a very impersonal place. Sunbeds were all reserved early in the day (against rules) so never managed to have one, even in low season. Internet was not free, no bathrobes or dvd players in our room that we have found in cheaper resorts. A place for those who like style and an imposing facade. Nice, but not for us again. |

| This hotel is in an ideal location at the end of the beach and close to restaurants and shops. The hotel is very well maintained and the rooms are spacious and well kept. You will have to be an early bird to catch a sunbed around the pool or the beach as beach towels seem to appear beds as early at 0630 in the morning.
