| A superb hotel with very convenient location close to town and beach. We had a Grand Deluxe room for a very good rate. the room was fantastic with plenty of space and a balcony with views over the garden. Excellent buffet breakfast and we dined in the restaurant on 2 occasions in the evening and 1 occasion at lunch time- each time the food was delicious. |

| Travelled with 3yo and 3 month old. Stayed in deluxe room. Room was fantastic - plenty of room for us all, very clean and good condition. Extremely friendly staff, particularly for the children - we loved that the staff would hold/care for our baby during breakfast every morning to leave our hands free to enjoy the fantastic buffet.
Pools (x3) were lovely. Great kids pool that our 3 yo could play in safely by herself and free balls/kickboards around for her to play with. Perhaps the only negative was there weren t too many other kids around for her to play with. She went to the kids room with us a couple of times but was always the only kid in there. A front desk staff person always sat with her and played too while we were there.
Resort on a hill - it was steep but not that long - we managed easily carrying the 2 children a couple of times a day. Lots of great restaurants and shops nearby. Took advantage of free shuttles to patong and kata beach.
Highly recommended. |

| It s quite a nice place with very friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed the luxurious room and the swiming pool. Tips: It would be more economic to book the breakfast with the room because it would cost more if you order it speratedly.
But there was much garbage on the beach and the hotel was on a hill, which did consume some energy to walk along. If you walk 10 mins to Kata Noi beach, you may have better swimming experience. |

| It was the 4th time we stayed in Avista, which Avista really a very nice hotel. I highly recommended.
A small accident happened during our last trip, Avista took fully responsible on my medication fee and also upgraded us to the one-bedroom suite! That s so nice!
I always happy with Avista and i m sure we will choose Avista again for our next trip! |

| This place is simply amazing. We LOVED the resort, the service, the facilities, the cleanliness. My only recomendation would be for the hotel to provide more frequent shuttle service up and down the steep hill they are on as even the tuk tuks are reluctant to shuttle you up the hill. The hill is farily steep and especially difficult with children. However this is by far one of the best resorts I have stayed at. The atmosphere and people make this place magical. |

| Despite the steep hill to reach the hotel all the other features are very good. We spent 9 nights there and, on the overall, Avista has was a very good choice. The booking through sawadee.com has been simple, safe and efficient. |

| The overall experience was very pleasant. The hotel is uniquely located close to the sea-shore, yet away from the danger levels of tsunami.
We enjoyed it even more for the quieter environment. The hotel staffs were very friendly and assisted a lot. Rooms were well furnished and nicely decorated.
I d give a 9/10 rating for the hotel only because the uphill climb to reach to the hotel was a bit tiring. |

| I m very satisfied witht the hotel stay with Avista, staff were extremely friendly. Room are very comfortable, swimming pools were fun enough to let me spent half of my day. Check in was fast with a welcome drink. Will stay again if the price remains at the current price. |

| - the way to hotel is very steep but only 200m, acceptable for young people
- if going down to kata beach, it s really 3-min walk down, and around 15 min to walk to karon beach
- good that having 1-way free shuttle bus to patong beach
- staff is very very friendly
- the hotel and room is very modern style and very new
- very surprised that the LCD TV can support reading SD card, i.e. can watch the picture taken from camera
- very new and clean room
- good balcony
- shower water is not very hot and water is slow
- breakfast is good with great variety
- pool is nice and clean

| We stayed at Avista for 5 days. The hotel is new, modern, clean, spacious..well, I just couldn t find the right words to describe s the hotel. It s the best.
For the money we payed, it s worhty. 4 star resort at 2 star price. If you plan to stay here, book through Sawadee, it s the cheapest. Trust me, I compared all the websites.
It was a pleasant stay for us and we will come back. |

| Check in is pleasant with cold towel and sweet fruit drink. Staff is nice and very helpful.
Deluxe room is spacious but spotted ants on sofa toward the end where near the door at balcony. Properly due to food residue that no clean properly i supposed. The room amenities are great & sufficient. The balcony with seating and small table (room 304) is great chilled out place with clear sky at night but be prepare for mosquitoes attack. The sunset is sightable too.
Resort s facilities are adequate with gym, great pools, game room & a small libary. Kid club is closed at the time of my stay may be due to low season & you hardly see kids around (less kids mean less noisy, is time for honeymooner now). Free internet access with headset at check in lobby is a plus. Spa is discount up to 50% at this time around, great deal but i never try.
There is only one restaurant (no air-conditioning, humid and hot) in this hotel. I tried the dinner there, standard is average if compare to the price. Breakfast is acceptable if you are westerner but if you are asian, then forget about it and no yummy at all. All dishes no really fresh may be due to high temperature, variety limited (of course, low season now).
Be prepare to walk on a very steep hill up to the resort. Ok for youngster but if you are old folk, good luck to you or you may treat it as exercise of the day. Cheers!
Location is ok, nearby bars (of course pretty girls are inside too if you have FAQ). Resort provides complimentary shuttle service to Kata beach (Return) & patong (one way only) which is great as it saves your token as tuk tuk & taxi service right in front of resort are blood sucker. I suggest you rent a motorbike if you stay here, you will find that your world in Kata will becomes bigger.
Overall rating 3 out of 5, mainly constibuted by the room it-self and price offered during this low season (1,750.00 Bath/night inclusive of VAT). GREAT DEAL, ha.... See you there |

| We had a very pleasant stay at Avista Resort and Spa!
The good points:
- Very nice rooms, big, comfortable, and very clean. Quite far from the sea though - don t expect outstanding seaview!
- Good breakfast; staff service-minded, friendly, polite and fast.
- Very efficient housekeeping service - when unable to enter the room ( do not disturb -sign) they will leave a message, asking you to arrange a time at your convenience with the front desk.
- Nice little game room, stylish lobby and good restaurant.
However, there is still room for improvement:
- Yes, the hill is steep. But personally, I liked it! You get a nice little workout for free. However, there is no 7-Eleven on the hill, and no other shops as well. The hotel should consequently open a small minimart selling essential products, such as beverages and toiletries. Even if prices are higher, it would be much more convenient the guests.
- Rooms are very clean, but there is a problem with ants that needs to be solved. They are not everywhere, but there was an invasion of ants close to the balcony. Management should try to handle this issue.
- In-room internet (free) is fast, but occational connecting problems need improvement.
- Breakfast is good, and the quality of food outstanding! But we did not like the fact that there was no variety at all - they were offering the same items every day. After one week you get tired of it - and this should not happen at a 4/5 star hotel!
We recommend Avista Resort and Spa to travelers looking for very comfortable rooms (amazing value for money !!) and a quiet location not too far from kata north. |

| This is a brand new, modern hotel, with excellent facilities and comfy beds. However we found the food prices in the restaurant a little expensive but there are plenty of places to eat close by. However, on the website it does not mention a very steep climb up the hill to where the hotel is situated. This is safe from Tsunami s, and hired a small jeep to get to the beach and back with our family. This was cheaper per day. There is a hotel shuttle bus, which is not very regular nor free! Lovely beach and SonKran fesitivites were enjoyable. |

| Neues Hotel auf dem Berg. Es werden jedoch nur sehr wenige Zimmer Seaview haben und daher lohnt es sich nicht ständig auf den Berg hochsteigen zu müssen. Erster Eindruck von dem großzügigen Empfangsbereich, freundlichem Service und großem Zimmer mit 2 Doppelbetten und 2 Waschbecken im Bad war sehr gut. Jedoch handelt es sich nicht um ein Resort sondern nur ein Hotel mit Swimmingpool. Die Freiflächen sind sehr begrenzt und es stehen überall Maschinen zum Reinigen des Pools herun an denen man sich vorbeizwängen muss. Nachts sind die Zimmer sehr hellhörig und man wird durch Trampeln von oben und Türschlagen im Gang gestört. Die neuen Betten mit insgesamt 12 Kissen waren sehr bequem. Großer LCD TV und LED Beleuchtung sind ganz nett das Schaufenster ins Bad ist jedoch nicht mein Fall. Nebenleistungen wie SPA, Essen und Getränke sind sehr teuer. Alles gekaufte muss man den Berg hochschleppen. Dieser ist extrem steil. |

| beautiful hotel, mid-sized, and very friendly staff. i checked-in on nov 8, so they were still doing construction to finish everything off. so couldnt stay in the hotel during the day due to the construction noises and workmen walking around. but it was still a fabulous stay. modern equipment - people, you should bring a PC with HDMI cable so you can watch movies off your PC. they have HDMI and LAN and other sockets on the wall. talk about a modern facility! they have it.
the service was really good, the staff were friendly and every time i asked for stuff like extra blanket or laundry they were very fast on their actions.
the food at the restaurant was good too. brekki there wasnt grand menu you can choose from (its not a huge size hotel so i wont complain) but the quality was good. their bread and pastries were absolute delight.
overall, the hotel was great and i would love to stay there again. |
